I, like many of you, find myself spending more than my share of screen time binge watching. What show are you into now? I’m really enjoying God Friended Me. Miles Finer is an outspoken atheist whose life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from God and unwittingly becomes an agent of change in the lives and destinies of others around him. “Coincidences” unfold as Miles and his friends investigate God's friend suggestions, and God is working out all the details in the lives of the characters of the show. In real life we are sometimes privy to observing the divine orchestrations of the lives around us, but not usually. Zechariah prophesied that Jesus would enter into Jerusalem riding on a donkey, with a colt in hand, exactly as it played out on Palm Sunday. Moses happened to be at a burning bush. Isaac’s life was one moment away from ending when God provided a lamb in the thickets. He is extending treatment of and attention to the particulars of our lives and is working all things for good to those who know him. (Romans 8:28) There’s no coincidences in life: God is in the details. This period of sheltering in and social distancing isn’t just coincidence. This is God’s plan unfolding and I need to find the patience and comfort knowing He’s got all the details worked out and is setting us up for success. He always has, always will and always does. Revelation 22:13 – I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. During a moving meditation at Frogpose Yoga you will often hear your instructor giving specific instruction on how to hold a pose, where to send your attention, how to shift your gaze and when to breath. The correct placement of palms and feet, the orientation of joints and mindfulness are details to help keep student’s injury free and to inspire the most spiritual and physical benefit possible. The biggest part of setting students up for success is the teacher’s dependence on paying attention to correct posturing and the details of each pose. Listen for the cues “keep your shoulders over your hips, knees over ankles or fingers engaged” and know that your teacher is paying attention to detail and helping grow you in your practice. Thomas Nelson said "from our vantage points, life can seem overwhelming and even out of control, but He who loves us with a steadfast love is as into the details of our lives as He was when He created the details of bringing together the water and the sandy shores. As Christ said in Matthew 6:26, the Father knows every bird and He cares for them. How much more He cares for us as His prize creation!" Join us Wednesday at noon for an encouraging facebook live beginner yoga flow @frogposeyoga. With the use of breath, physical postures and stretching on your yoga mat, we will dive into detailed posturing and God’s attention to detail.
